Why doesn't a network as network as big and resourceful as CNN have LIVE programming during overnight hours?

I don't get it. CNN is so bog and powerful. They pay countless millions in salaries to on air personalities. So why don't they have live programs between midnight and 6am?

Instead, all they do is snow repeats of the previous days programs.

Do they think that no one would watch live, new shows overnight?

I understand the need to repeat Larry King and Anderson Cooper, but wouldn't it be good if there were a few things on overnight that were new and live? Why doesn't a network as network as big and resourceful as CNN have LIVE programming during overnight hours?
Well, no one is watching. They can't sell ads at that hour. So why bother?

Note -- this is not restricted to CNN. Most channels simply give up at those hours and run infomercials or repeat programs. It's tough for night owls like us.
