He was wealthy enough, he was never convicted of much...so, innocent. At least as innocent as OJ....



And he is dead...it is not nice to speak ill of the dead.



Some probably saw him as raising the bar for the US...in many ways. There are enough other signs of decline...to go around without adding MJ to them. It is practice idolatry for when the great deceiver, the antichrist comes around...then we will know what cult of personality is really all about. The stage is being set, and MJ was simply an opening act...
Well, to say Michael Jackson did nothing for society is a gross understatment. Michael was quite the humanitarian (have we forgotten about "we are the World"?) and donated to many charitable organizations. Michael Jackson was also the highest selling recording artist of all time (750mill.) that means that about 1/7th of the world's ENTIRE population purchased one of his albums. That's a very major deal. Michael also revolutionized music in the 80's and his last recorded effort, Invincible, was not a bad work either. Michael supported terminally ill children and their families, and of course one cannot completely dissmiss the accusations (of which he was found innocent) of child molestation and other such charges. Michael Jackson still was, and always will be, one of the greatest singers, dancers, and humanitarians of all time. This is of course my personal opinion, but the facts are undeniable and his track record is thus far unmatched by anyone on this petty message board. =)Weirdo, probable pedophile, has-been performer - why is his funeral a special live event on television?
YES YES YES! Thank you so much for saying this. The past few months I have been wondering what all the fuss was over a crazy *** pedophile! Now everyone seems to be in soooo much distress cause he passed, I COULD CARELESS ABOUT HIM! He contributed nothing to society and I do not believe he was a good person. Yeah, it's like the first answerer said, they did the same thing with ANS. It's just how the media reacts when a major celebrity dies. Remember, this excess is all hyped and covered by the media.
There are other programs on if that is what CNN chooses to show you don't have to watch it. Turn the channel.
